Ansley/Litchfield and Mullen Try to Qualify for Boys State Basketball on Central Nebraska’s Sports Source

The Ansley/Litchfield and Mullen boys basketball teams will play in district finals tonight as each try to qualify for the boys state basketball tournament which begins March 8th in Lincoln. Ansley/Litchfield will face Bancroft Rosalie in the D1-8 district final at Boone Central high school in Albion. The Spartans are 18-5 this season and qualified for the district final by winning the D1-7 sub district tournament with wins over Burwell and Pleasanton. Bancroft Rosalie is 19-6 and were winners of the D1-4 sub district tournament with victories over Hartington Newcastle and Howells Dodge. Tonight’s game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 and will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. A live video stream of the game, accompanied by the radio call, will be available on the Sandhills Express Facebook page and the Sandhills Express You Tube channel.

Mullen will face Santee for the D2-8 district championship tonight at Ord high school. Mullen is 17-5 on the season and qualified for the district finals as a wildcard after falling to Paxton in the D2-10 sub district final last week. Santee is 14-5 and also qualified for the district finals as a wildcard after falling to Stuart in the finals of the D2-5 sub district tournament. Tonight’s game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast locally on KCNI 1280 AM and 96.3 FM. The game will also be broadcast on the internet at kcni1280.com and on the free KCNI Pure Country app.
