Anselmo-Merna Wins Sutherland Invite

The Anselmo-Merna wrestling team continued its impressive start to the season by claiming the team championship at the Sutherland Invite on Saturday. AM had seven wrestlers place in the top three of their weight class including three champions. Tyce Porter was the champion at 145 lbs., Jadon Wells champion at 152 lbs., and Sid Miller was champion at 195 lbs. Tristan Olson was runner-up at 113 lbs. and Jarrett Wells was runner-up at 132 lbs. Caden Coufal was third at 160 lbs. and Tayte Thornton was third at 220.  Mullen placed third in the team standings.  The Broncos had two champions on the day including Eli Paxton at 126 lbs. and Isaac Welch was champion at 285 lbs.  Other top four medal winners for Mullen included Jeffery Forsen third at 120 lbs., Justin French fourth at 138, Chase Gracey 2nd at 170, and Tel Kvanvig fourth at 220 lbs.  Sandhills/Thedford medaled three wrestlers in the top four.  Brodie Stengel was fourth at 126 lbs., Rhett McFadden was third at 182, and Caden Zutavern was third at 195 lbs.
