Sandhills/Thedford hosted its annual boys golf invitational Thursday. Anselmo-Merna was the team champion with a low team score of 355. South Loup and Sandhills Valley tied for 2nd in the team standings with a 359 team score. The low individual round of the day was a 74 turned in by Brady Haake of Sandhills/Thedford. Haake shot 36 on the front and 38 on the back nine to secure the individual championship. Aaron Bartak of Anselmo-Merna was runner up with a round of 78 followed by teammate Colin Cooksley who was third with an 82. Ethan Weems of Sandhills Valley shot an 85 to finish fourth. Jacob Walker of Mullen and Cache Gracey of South Loup each shot a round of 86 to finish fifth and sixth. Joey Sallach of South Loup, Braden Powell of Sandhills Valley, and Quinten Myers of Anselmo-Merna each finished with a round of 87 to place 7th, 8th, and 9th. Dawson Doggett of South Loup and Thomas Gale of North Platte St. Pat’s rounded out the top ten scores of the tournament as each finished with a round of 88.
Other area teams that competed included the Broken Bow JV’s who were led by Gavin Carrizales with a team low 90 and Burwell who was led by Landon Critel and Kason Larson who each shot an 89.
