Anselmo-Merna Wins Mullen Wrestling Invitational

Anselmo-Merna won the team championship at the Mullen wrestling invitational on Saturday. The Coyotes scored 147 team points to win the title. Bayard was 2nd, Bridgeport 3rd, North Platte St. Pat’s 4th, and Sandhills/Thedford was 5th. AM had four individual champions on the day. Jarrett Wells placed first at 138 lbs. Jadon Wells was champion at 150 lbs. Tyce Porter was champion at 165 lbs. Tayte Thornton was champion at 215 lbs. Other top four finishes for Anselmo-Merna included Caden Coufal (4th at 157) and Drake Doss (3rd at 175). Other area highlights included, Zebb Wilde of Sandhills/Thedford  champion at 285 lbs. Other top four finishes for S/T included Brodie Stengel (4th at 132), Rhett McFadden (runner-up at 175), and Caden Zutavern (3rd at 215). Mullen’s Chase Gracey placed first at 170 lbs. Mullen’s Jason Kraus was 3rd at 150 lbs. Tobias Sward of Sandhills Valley placed 4th at 120 lbs.
