Anselmo-Merna made their first ever appearance in the championship match of the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference volleyball tournament on Saturday and they made the most of it capturing their first ever MNAC tournament title. Anselmo-Merna advanced to the championship match with a straight set win earlier in the day over Mullen (25-17, 25-19, 25-22). AM would face defending tournament champion Sandhills/Thedford in the final. The Lady Knights advanced to the championship match by knocking off top seed Brady 3-1 in the semifinals (25-18, 25-17, 24-26, 25-19). In the championship match, Sandhills/Thedford took the opening set 25-20 but AM came back and won back to back deuce games winning 25-23 in the second set and 28-26 in the third. The Lady Coyotes would close it out in the fourth set winning 25-19 to claim the championship and collect their 15th win of the season.
Brady won the 3rd place consolation match 3-2 over Mullen (13-25, 25-17, 25-27, 25-21, 15-10).
5th place match – South Loup (Callaway/Arnold) def. Twin Loup, 25-23, 25-22 (2-0)
7th place match – Sandhills Valley def. Arthur County, 25-22, 25-21 (2-0)
