The Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald have released its final rankings for the girls basketball season. Anselmo-Merna and Mullen were both ranked in the final Class D2 poll. Anselmo-Merna was ranked eighth by both the LJS and OWH. The Lady Coyotes finished the season at 20-6 and qualified for the girls state tournament by winning the D2-8 district championship. Anselmo-Merna fell to eventual state champion and top ranked Falls City Sacred Heart in the opening round of the state tournament. Mullen was ranked #10 in the final Class D2 poll by both major publications. The Lady Broncos finished the season at 19-3 winning the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference tournament this season and qualified for the D2-5 district championship where they fell to Wilcox Hildreth.
Broken Bow was ranked #9 by the Omaha World Herald in Class C1. The Lady Indians finished 18-7 this season and qualified for the C1 district finals falling to Scotus Central Catholic of Columbus in the C1-6 district championship. Fellow Southwest Conference schools Minden and Gothenburg finished #3 and #4 respectively by both publications in the final Class C1 poll. Both teams qualified for the girls state tournament this year and both advanced to the state semifinals where Minden fell to Milford and Gothenburg fell to eventual state champion Lincoln Christian. The two teams met for the third time this season in the third place consolation game at the state tournament. After splitting the two previous meetings, Minden claimed the third place trophy at state with a 56-50 win.
