Arcadia/Loup City hosted the Rebel track and field invitational in Loup City on Thursday. Area teams Arcadia/Loup City and Ansley/Litchfield were among those that competed at the meet. Jessica Stieb of Arcadia/Loup City was a double gold medal winner. Stieb won the girls shot put with a winning effort of 42’7.5″ and won the discus with an effort of 131’11”. Other top three finishes for the ALC girls team included Sami Augustyn 3rd in the 100 and 3rd in the 200. Landri Loos was third in the 400 and was champion in the 800 in a winning time of 2:30.9. Tatum Kapustka was runner-up in the girls triple jump and ALC placed 2nd in the girls 4×100 meter relay. On the boys side, Ty Greenland led the way for Arcadia/Loup City on the track finishing 2nd in the 3200 meters and was third in the boys mile. In the field events, Kaden Reeves led the way for the Rebels winning the boys pole vault with a winning effort of 12′. Other top three finishes for the ALC boys included Tyce Calleroz finishing 2nd in the 100 meters.
Luke Bailey led the way for Ansley/Litchfield. Bailey finished as the runner up in three events finishing 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles, the 300 meter hurdles and finished 2nd in the boys triple jump. Ryan Bailey also had a strong day for the Spartans finishing 5th in the 400, 4th in the 300 meter hurdles and was 4th in the boys high jump. Klarissa Dowdy helped lead the Ansley/Litchfield girls with three top six finishes. Dowdy placed 4th in the high jump behind teammate Kerri Ryan who was third. Dowdy was fifth in the 100 meter hurdles and was sixth in the 300 meter hurdles.
