Bow Seniors Drop Doubleheader to North Platte

The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team traveled to North Platte for a doubleheader with Great Plains Health Post 163.

Game one was a thriller that went back and forth.  The game was tied 4-4 after four innings.  After North Platte scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead, Broken Bow’s Dominic Nowak singled in Aiden Page to tie the game in the sixth inning.  In the bottom of the sixth, North Platte’s Jace Hammond doubled to drive in what would be the winning run as North Platte took game one 6-5.  Jackson Hall was 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and triple while driving in two runs and scoring one run.

Game two was very similar.  The teams again went back and forth in a game that was stopped after five innings.  Broken Bow scored two runs in the top of the first to take the early lead, but North Platte scored two runs in the second to tie the game.  After North Platte scored a run in the fourth, Broken Bow scored three runs in the top of the fifth to retake the lead, but North Platte would score three in the bottom of the fifth to win 6-5.  Broken Bow had just four hits in the game.  Dominic Nowak was 1 for 2 with two runs scored.  Also collecting hits for the Bow seniors were Jackson Hall, Carter Hall, and Kanzas Kellum.

The Bow seniors are scheduled to host the Cozad Reds on Thursday at Paul Brown Field.
