Broken Bow Legion Baseball Splits Doubleheader with North Platte

The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams hosted North Platte Post 163 for a doubleheader Tuesday night at Paul Brown Field.  The Bow juniors fell behind 4-1 after 3 innings but came back with 4 runs in the fourth and 3 more in the sixth to escape with an 8-5 win to improve to 10-0 on the season.  Eli Coble was 3 for 3 in the lead off spot with 2 runs scored.  Max Denson, Austin Harvey, and Brice Chaplin all went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.  Zach Loy was 2 for 3 with a run scored.  Austin Harvey took the mound in relief in the second inning and picked up the win going 5 and 2/3 innings allowing just 2 runs on 3 hits.

The Bow seniors fell to North Platte in a low scoring pitcher’s duel.  Blake Denson gave a strong pitching performance for Broken Bow going all seven innings giving up just 2 runs on 7 hits and striking out 9 but the opposing pitcher Coe of North Platte was just a little bit better as Broken Bow was held scoreless and managed just 3 hits total as North Platte claimed the win 2-0.  Blake Denson, Eli Coble, and Carter Johnson accounted for the 3 Broken Bow hits.  The Bow seniors are now 7-6 on the season.

Broken Bow will host Gothenburg Thursday night for a juniors and seniors doubleheader.  The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM at 8 p.m.
