2023 NSAA State Track and Field Championships Begin Today in Omaha – Reports on KBBN

The 2023 NSAA state track and field championships begin today at Burke Stadium in Omaha.  This is the first of four days of competition.  Classes A and B will be featured today and Thursday followed by classes C and D on Friday and Saturday.

The first session of field events for classes  A and B will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the second session of field events scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.  Running events will begin on the track at 1:30 this afternoon.

Broken Bow has eight entries in the Class B state meet.  Taylor Schaaf will be the first in action as she competes in the girls discus scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.  Max Denson will compete in the boys shot put today scheduled to begin at 11:30 and will compete in the boys discus tomorrow.  The Broken Bow girls 4×800 meter relay team (Halle Quinn, MaKinley Tobey, Maren Chapin, and Gaby Staples) will compete in the first running event of the day (3200 meter relay) at 1:30 today.  Noah Osmond will compete in the 3200 meter run today and will compete in the boys mile tomorrow.  Zane Eggleston competes in the prelims of the boys 300 meter hurdles today.  Coy Wardyn will be among those competing in the class B boys pole vault which is scheduled for Thursday beginning at Noon.
