NORTH PLATTE – The Nebraska Department of Transportation has released a statement indicating that work will begin on Monday, August 7 on NE-70 from reference post 75.21 to reference post 87.11, weather permitting.
Paulsen, Inc. of Cozad is the contractor for the project. Work will include bridge repair, asphalt pavement overlay, earth shoulder construction and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals, lane restrictions, and a pilot car and flaggers.
A 12-foor width restriction will be in effect, with anticipated completion set for June of 2024.
The purpose of the project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
The Department of Transportation reminds motorists to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down while driving.
