Two individuals appeared in Custer County Court on Monday, May 11th for violation of probation hearings.
Preston J. Foster, age 39 of Broken Bow, was sentenced in November 2025 to two years probation after being found guilty of DUI-3rd offense. That charge was originally filed as a Class IIIA felony, but a plea agreement in the case resulted in the defendant pleading no contest to a Class W misdemeanor. During Monday’s hearing, Foster denied allegations of violating certain conditions of his probation and a pretrial was set for June 1st.
In October 2025, Robert H. Walker, Sr., age 42 of Broken Bow, was sentenced to 18 months probation on charges of negligent child abuse, a Class I misdemeanor. He was originally charged with child abuse, a Class A felony, but that charge was amended and the defendant then pleaded no contest to the amended charge. Walker denied allegations of violating conditions of his probation and will also appear for a pretrial in the case on June 1st.
