CALLAWAY – At approximately 10:08 a.m. on Monday, August 15 a vehicle accident on Road 419 and Highway 40 was reported west of Callaway. A passenger was transported to the hospital in an individual vehicle rather than an ambulance. Crews from Callaway and surrounding towns were on the scene. The Custer County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred on private property.
ARCADIA – Also on Monday, August 15 a structure fire was reported in Arcadia at 11:06 a.m. KCNI/KBBN was on the scene as crews were completing clean-up efforts, where a single shed ignited that allegedly contained a UTV.
According to Arcadia Fire Chief Dan Scott, the blaze was caused by non-human, accidental factors, and no injuries to either firefighters or civilians occurred. All units had returned to their stations by 12:25 p.m.
