Hendrickson Rental and U-Haul Dealer, Reflections Salon & Spa, and Embracing Life Through Horses joined the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce on April 21, 2022.

BROKEN BOW—The Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce welcomed multiple businesses on Thursday, April 21 with ribbon cutting celebrations.

Under new management since July and at a new location, Dave and Tammy Hendrickson cut the ribbon for Hendrickson Rental and U-Haul Dealer. The Walker family previously ran the Broken Bow location of U-Haul but the Hendricksons took it over and felt called to keep the business in town.

“We wanted to keep this piece of business in town, it’s a helpful service for a lot of different things,” Tammy said. “I jumped on it right away,” Dave added.

Dave Hendrickson told KCNI/KBBN he thought it was important to maintain the business locally in order to help meet the needs of people moving to or from the area, or helping transport items within town. He said trucks are often dropped off in Broken Bow when people move to town for work.

Dave said some of the services and products available include ramp trailers, UV and RV trailers, trucks, auto transports, and tow dollies in a variety of sizes. The U-Haul location also sells moving and packaging materials.

In addition, Dave Hendrickson said he keeps at least three trucks available for rent as part of the 24/7 truck-share program. He said you can make the rental on your phone, you are given a code to unlock the key box, and can pick up the truck.

U-Haul is located at 234 South 5th Avenue in Broken Bow and can be reached at 308-872-2238. Office hours are Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rachelle Sheets is the owner of Reflections Salon & Spa and has been in the cosmetology business for the last 10 years. Originally from Kansas, Sheets is thankful for the support she has received in Broken Bow throughout the last year.

She offers full salon services and a place for her clients to be pampered from head to toe.

“I do pedicures, manicures, cuts, colors, waxing, lashes, and a little bit of everything. They can relax and enjoy!” Rachelle said.

Rachelle Sheets said she has been happy to be at her 5th Avenue location. She and her boyfriend Clint Maynard updated the space with some paint, decorations, and installation of the pedicure chairs.

Reflections Salon & Spa is located at 215 South 5th Avenue and can be reached at 308-870-2077 or on social media.

Kacey and Ahren Finney of Embracing Life Through Horses held a ribbon cutting for its unique Equine Gestalt Coaching or counseling—but with horses.

“They [horses] naturally like to help people, they naturally soothe people,” Kacey Finney told KCNI/KBBN.

She said horses have an intuition and can act like lie detectors to help clients discover their emotions and work through issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, grief, childhood trauma, life transitions, conflict resolution, clarity and decision making, empowerment, leadership/teamwork skills, life skills, finding purpose, etc.

Sessions can be held for individuals, couples, families, or groups. No horse experience is necessary. Embracing Life Through Horses opened in 2015 at Johnson Lake and has served Broken Bow for about four years. Kacey, her staff, and their horses are the only ones in the state certified to do what they do.

“We offer to all age levels, especially teenagers and adults, relationships, we do a lot of that stuff. [It’s] a lot different than you’re going to find anywhere else in Nebraska,” Kacey Finney said.

Embracing Life Through Horses and KC Photography are located at 43936 Paulsen Road and can be reached at 308-870-3159 or on social media.
