CUSTER COUNTY – A two-vehicle accident occurred around approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday on Highway 2.
According to the accident report from the Custer County Sheriff, Dan Osmond, a 2013 Chevy Silverado pulling a livestock trailer with one cow driven by John Lefever was traveling westbound when Lefever swerved to avoid colliding with a vehicle that was stopped on the road, waiting to turn on County Road 794. Levefer crossed into the eastbound lane of travel and collided with an eastbound 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Randy Schmidt. Schmidt’s vehicle received damage on the left, driver’s side and Lefever’s vehicle received damage on the left front of the vehicle. Schmidt and his passenger were both transported to JMMMMC. Lefever and his passenger refused medical treatment. Both vehicles were towed away.
