Two vehicle accident involves Broken Bow volunteer fire truck

BROKEN BOW— A two vehicle accident involving a Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department fire truck resulted in minor injuries Thursday afternoon.

Emergency personnel responded to the accident shortly before 4 PM on Thursday on the northwest corner of the square in Broken Bow. According to the Broken Bow Police Department (BBPD), the accident involved a small SUV and a volunteer fire truck. The truck was stopped at a stop sign in front of Legends Neighborhood Grill when the SUV attempted to park in a handicap parking stall. while doing so, it accelerated over the curb and struck the side of the fire truck.

The female driver of the SUV and a passenger were transported by ambulance to Melham Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries. The driver of the fire truck was not injured.

The investigation was conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol and BBPD thanked the Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department, Broken Bow Volunteer Ambulance Servcie, and the State Patrol for their assistance.
