Nebraska Future Business Leaders of America represented the state well at the National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Anaheim, California.
Nebraska FBLA had 17 top ten finishes with two 1st place awards in various events. The competitive events are organized into 5 categories: objective test, presentation, role play, chapter, and production. 17 students from the KCNI/KBBN listening area, representing Broken Bow, Litchfield, Loup City, and Sargent middle and high schools, competed at NLC.
Along with these awards, Nebraska FBLA had two members appointed to the national FBLA officer team. James Fletcher from Litchfield and Annabelle Kumm from Lincoln will represent Nebraska as national officers.
James Fletcher will be a senior at Litchfield High School and was elected as Mountain Plains Region Vice President. National FBLA is split into 5 regions. The Mountain Plains region includes the states of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.
James used the slogan “Feel the Fame, Vote for James” to campaign at NLC. He also used this campaign slogan in April of 2025 when he was elected as Nebraska State Vice President. James will serve both of these positions during the 2025-26 term.
Annabelle Kumm will be a senior at Lincoln East High School and was appointed National Parliamentarian. The National Parliamentarian is appointed to the candidate with the highest score on the parliamentary procedures exam. Annabelle was one of nine candidates for the position.
