Ticket deadline is Tuesday for family banquet in Arcadia

ARCADIA- The Arcadia Methodist Church invites the public to their 39th Annual Family Banquet, scheduled for this Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 PM at the Arcadia High School Gym.

Each year of the banquet’s history has held a new featured speaker. This year, attendees will enjoy an inspirational and motivational talk from former Nebraska Cornhusker football offensive lineman Ethan Piper.

Piper was with the Nebraska football program since 2019 up to his 2023 Junior season where he started all games before suffering a career-ending injury. Event organizer Rolen Sell said that even on the phone, Piper gives off a great energy.

“The thing we really like about him is that his faith has been such a major role, even since high school. His strong faith has led him through the difficult circumstances and encouraged him in the good things that have happened to him. I haven’t been able to hear him give a presentation to a group but speaking with him on the phone he just exudes excitement, confidence, and encouragement” said Sell.

No tickets are being sold at the door for the event, with advanced ticket sales giving organizers the best idea for their caterer on their need for food which is a delicious roast beef dinner. Youth high school age and younger get in free, but must have a ticket reserved, again to help in the meal count. Adult tickets are $15.00.

Tuesday March 12 is the cut off day for reserving tickets. Those wishing to attend can call 308-202-0136, 308-750-4208, or 308-202-1314 to claim tickets.

Sell invites those of all ages to the event, from Arcadia and beyond.

“We have those from 4 years to 84 attend. Everyone is welcome.”
