Ticket deadline is this week for 2026 Cattlemen’s Ball near Cozad

Tickets are still available for the 2026 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska, but organizers are urging people to act quickly before sales end this Friday (May 15).

The annual cancer research fundraiser will take place June 5-6 in a pasture north of Cozad and will feature a full weekend of entertainment, gourmet beef meals, auctions, and activities, all while raising money for cancer research and local wellness initiatives.

Country music artist Aaron Watson will headline the Saturday night concert with performances of songs including “Freight Train” and “Outta Style.” Texas-based performer Gunnar Latham will open the weekend Friday night, while Borderline will provide late-night entertainment Saturday.

Organizers say this year’s event is designed to be much more than just a concert.

The weekend schedule includes a western style show, golf outing, 5K run, live and silent auctions, vendor and art tents, cancer education and healthcare exhibits, and multiple gourmet beef dining experiences showcasing Nebraska agriculture.

“This is more than a single night, it’s a full experience,” host Bobbie Jo Messersmith said in a release. “People are always surprised by how much there is to do and how much entertainment is included.”

The 2026 ball is being hosted by the Benjamin and Messersmith families in a pasture about 10 miles north of Cozad. Organizers say the site offers scenic views of the valley while providing easy access and room for the event’s many activities.

The fundraiser supports the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, with 90 percent of proceeds going toward cancer research and 10 percent supporting local health and wellness projects in the host community.

Since the event began in 1998, the Cattlemen’s Ball has raised more than $20 million for cancer detection, treatment and care efforts across Nebraska.

“We’re going to have a party in the pasture and we’re going to raise money for a really good cause and you don’t have to be a cattleman,” Linda Benjamin said in a release. “All you have to do is buy a ticket…buy a ticket and you’re going to be surprised.”

Advance tickets must be purchased by Friday, May 15, as there will be no ticket sales at the door.

More information and tickets are available through the Cattlemen’s Ball website.
