THEDFORD – This is the third year that the Nebraska Department of Transportation has held its “Name the Snow Plow” contest.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will select 16 names from across the state to be chosen as winners. The winning names will be branded on selected plows in the district where the student is from.

Each winning student will receive a mini snowplow with the winning name branded on the

snowplow and a sign they can keep.

This year Bridlelyn Gonzales from Thedford won the contest with the plow name “Chips

and Salt-sa”.

The Thedford elementary students got to sign the inside of the plow and honk the horn on the truck.

When winter storms happen, “Chips and Salt-sa” can be tracked using the plow tracker feature on the Nebraska 511 website or the app.

511 is a great resource when traveling or making plans to travel during winter weather.
