The Custer County Fairgrounds Will Be A Busy Place This Summer

The Custer County Fairgrounds is gearing up for what will be a busy and eventful summer.  The fairgrounds is host to much more than just the yearly county fair activities.  Among the highlight events in June alone, the “3 Can Jam” barrel racing event and the Nebraska Angus Junior State Show this weekend (June 3-5).  The World Series of Team Roping will host a qualifier June 11-12 and the National Barrel Horse Association Nebraska State Finals will take place at the Custer County Fairgrounds June 17-19.  Michelle Nelson, Custer County Ag Society administrator, visited with KCNI/KBBN radio about the busy summer ahead.  Nelson acknowledged that many may not realize how many events the fairgrounds is host to.

 

It’s hard to believe but the Custer County Fair is now less than two months away.  This year’s fair is scheduled for July 29th – August 4th.  Nelson said there will be a few changes to the fair schedule this year especially on Saturday July 30th in regards to the fair parade and concert.
