Classes for the event include limited weld, bonestock, bonestock compacts, and powerwheels.
According to Grafel, this is the first demolition derby in Broken Bow since 2016, and they hope it can become an annual event again.
“It’s important that the community supports these events so that they can continue to happen… My goal is to make it an annual event if possible. I think it is something we could really use in Custer County,” said Grafel.
The Custer County Demo Derby is part of the Nebraska State Fair Demolition Derby Point Series Event. Broken Bow is the second competition location in the series. The series features demo derbies throughout Nebraska until its conclusion on September 1 at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island.
