Pickups and trailer stolen from Broken Bow, pickup stolen from Loup City all recovered Friday

LOUP CITY, Neb. – The Sherman County Sheriff’s office says that a pickup and trailer stolen from Broken Bow and a pickup stolen from Loup City have been recovered.

Region 26 Emergency Management dispatched the Sherman County Sheriff’s office to the intersection of 790th Road and 476th Avenue east of Loup City on Friday morning, where a pickup and trailer were found wrecked with no driver or occupants on scene. The pickup and trailer were reported stolen from Broken Bow.

Another pickup and trailer, which were later discovered to be stolen from Loup City by the party who wrecked the truck and trailer from Broken Bow, were passed on the way to the scene by responders in the roadway.

The second pickup was recovered following the arrest of the responsible individual for the accident by the Kearney Police Department at the emergency room. The trailer had become detached from the pickup.
