LOUP COUNTY, NE – Loup County Sheriff Dustin Spanel says that a standoff on South Lake Road near Calamus Reservoir ended with an arrest on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office was notified by Region 26 of a possible disturbance about a 20-year-old male threatening to kill his father and himself. Law enforcement arrived on scene and established a phone call with the subject, identified as Conner Marsh, age 20 of Burwell.
Phone calls were exchanged between Marsh and Loup County. Nebraska State Patrol negotiators and SWAT were requested, and a short time later Marsh came out of the house and surrendered to law enforcement without incident. He was booked into the Valley County Jail for terroristic threats.
The Loup County Sheriff’s Office thanked Region 26 Communications Center, the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, Burwell Fire and Rescue, and the Nebraska State Patrol for their help with the situation.
