CALLAWAY- The Sandhills Open Road Challenge (SORC) continues today, August 9.
The second day of SORC begins with breakfast by The Green Apple Café at 6:30 a.m. Then, the road will close at 7:30 a.m.
The One Mile Shootout begins at 8 a.m. 1 mile west and 16 miles south of Callaway or 13 miles north of Cozad on road 421.
Lunch will go on from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Callaway Community Center, sponsored by the Callaway Chamber of Commerce.
At 2:30 in Downtown Arnold will be the Parade of Cars followed by the car show at 3 and the drag race and burnout contest at 3:30.
The mandatory drivers’ meeting is at 5 p.m. at the Arnold Community Center. Following the meeting to end off the day is Chicken Noodle Dinner at the Arnold Community Center.
