The annual Arbor Day free tree giveaway from the Simple Living Group is Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on the North side of the square in Broken Bow.
Simple Living Group member Patsy Burnett told KCNI/KBBN that nine different varieties are available this year including Liberty Apple, Elderberry, Service Berry, Little Leaf Lindens, Chinkapin Oak, Red Oak, Native Cottonwood, Ponderosa Pine, and Southwest White Pine.
A limited number of each variety is available, and those looking for more information or who want to reserve a tree are encouraged to text or call Polly Blackburn at 253-326-3104. Texts are preferred and Burnett said the hope is that all trees are reserved ahead of the scheduled event so they can just be handed out then.
