Story: The Elks Lodge is hosting their second annual Elktoberfest 5K Fun Run/Walk or 1 mile loop walk.
Check in starts at 8:00am at Melham Park, under the canopy by the baseball fields. There is a $30 entry fee, and at 9:00 am the race is on. Payment is due at the check in on race day.
The fees for this event go towards scholarships for recent high school graduates, veteran suppers, and many other activities that the Elks Lodge provides.
Elktoberfest event coordinator, Kayla Haberstick told KCNI/KBBN that there is another option for people not wanting to do the full 5K run or walk.
“We’re doing a 5K run or walk. And then for those who don’t want to do the full amount of that 5K, we do have a 1 mile loop that we have blocked off that folks can just come up and walk on a beautiful morning.”
If unsure about what your schedule holds for the weekend, registrations are open until the race starts.
