The clock is ticking for those planning to take part in Broken Bow EMS’s third annual Run 4 Your Life 5k and 10k run and walk. Online registration closes Wednesday (October 1). Participants who register by that date will receive a race T-shirt.
Day-of registration will still be available this Saturday, but shirts are not guaranteed.
The race begins and ends at Kinkaider Brewing Company, with registration and packet pickup opening at 9 AM and the race starting at 10 AM. Advanced EMT and event organizer Kelvin Kreitman spoke about the goal of the event.
“We dreamed this up three years ago to kind of promote healthy living and healthy lifestyles, and we wanted to do something for the area to help out in that way,” Kreitman said.
He added that participants of all levels are welcome. “On the 5k side of it you can run, walk, push a stroller— whatever you want to do. It’s to get people to be active and get out there and just do something.”

Proceeds from registrations benefit Broken Bow Volunteer EMS, which has recently added members, upgraded services, and purchased a new ambulance.
“When you boil it all down to it, what we’re working towards is better outcomes for our patient. It’s all about patient care and EMS. If we can help people get a little bit healthier and we don’t have to come see you on your worst day, that’s even better yet,” Kreitman said.
Registration costs $30 for the 5k and $35 for the 10k at GetMeRegistered.com. Those who can’t attend but still want to support the EMS are encouraged to drop donations off at the fire and EMS location on Webster Avenue.
