ANSELMO- Ribbon will be cut Wednesday, June 26, at 11 a.m. to celebrate the renovation of the Anselmo Community Center.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be located at the Anselmo Village Library at 201 North Dorr Street. The library serves as the village’s gathering and meeting place, hosting several events including funerals, community potlucks, and private parties.
Construction on the project began in November of 2023. Improvements include handicap-accessible bathrooms, handicap-accessible entrances, and additional space for a kitchen. These improvements will be able to attract more visitors and host larger events.
The project was funded by the State of Nebraska’s Community Development Block Grant Program. They awarded Anselmo $442,330. Of the total $407,330 went to project costs, $25,000 for grant administration, and $10,000 for construction management services. Anselmo provided $40,733 for this project.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will include many speakers including Tanyor Gilligan, Village of Anselmo Chairman, Office of U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts, Jared Reimers from the Office of Congressman Adrian Smith, Nicole Bartels from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, Heath Rader from Hackel Construction, Tom Werblow from TC Engineering, and Amber Ross from the Central Nebraska Economic Development District.
