BROKEN BOW— Broken Bow EMS is inviting the public to participate in their third annual Run 4 Your Life 5k and 10k run and walk, as registrations opened September 3. Those wishing to participate can register until October 1 to be guaranteed a T-Shirt. Day-of registration is available, although a shirt is not guaranteed.
Advanced EMT and event organizer Kelvin Kreitman said he’s thrilled to welcome everyone back to the road for this year’s event.
“Yeah, you know, it was something that we dreamed up, you know, three years ago to kind of promote healthy living and healthy lifestyles and we kind of wanted to do something for the area, you know, to help out in that kind of area,” said Kreitman.
The race, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, begins and ends at Kinkaider Brewing Company. Registration and packet pickup opens at 9 AM with the race starting an hour later.
Kreitman said runners and walkers of all levels are encouraged to register.

“So on the 5k side of it you can run, walk, I mean push a stroller, whatever you want to do. It’s to get people to be active and get out there and just do something,” Kreitman explained.
Proceeds from registrations will support Broken Bow Volunteer EMS, which Kreitman said continues to add members, added ALS, purchased a new ambulance, and continually participates in ongoing education opportunities.
“When you boil it all down to it, what we’re working towards is better outcomes for our patient. It’s all about patient care and EMS. If we can help people get a little bit healthier and we don’t have to come see you on your worst day, that’s even better yet, right?” said Kreitman.
Online registrations can be completed at a cost of $30 for the 5k or $35 for the 10k on GetMeRegistered.com. Those who can’t make the event that want to support the EMS can drop donations off at the fire and EMS location in Broken Bow on Webster Avenue.
