The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued an updated Red Flag Warning for Tuesday from Noon to 8pm CT.
The warning is in effect for all of western and north central Nebraska.
Relative Humidity values as low as 15%, temperatures up to 72 degrees, and west winds gusting up to 45 mph will lead to critical fire weather conditions.
Dry lightening is also possible over southwestern Nebraska, generally south of Interstate 80.
Any fire that starts will spread rapidly and be difficult to control.
