Recap of September 14th Custer County Court

Custer County Court was in session on Monday, September 14th, with Judge Tami Schendt presiding.

Appearing on Monday morning was James L. Irons, age 56 of Arnold. Irons is charged with two counts of making terroristic threats, both Class IIIA felonies. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on August 11th. Matthew Furrow was appointed as public defender and Judge Schendt set a preliminary hearing in the case for October 26th. Bond was continued.

A preliminary hearing for Joseph L. Mixon, age 43 of Newport, Nebraska, was on the afternoon docket. However, Mixon failed to appear for the hearing. Judge Schendt issued a bench warrant in the amount of $10,000 with 10% privilege for the defendant. In addition, Mixon’s bond was revoked.

Several other criminal felony cases on Monday’s calendar were continued.
