The Custer County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday morning, August 11th in the Courthouse. Tammy Kleeb was the lone absence.
During committee reports, Supervisor Clay Govier informed the Board that Recycling Manager Kelly Flynn had notified all out-of-county recycling users about the fee increase approved by the Board in July. Govier added that a working session with county towns and villages will be held on August 12th for discussion on potential cost-sharing of the recycling center.
At the Board of Equalization meeting, representatives from the Custer Care Center were in attendance in order to answer questions and present information regarding their motor vehicle tax exemption application. County Treasurer Sheri Bryant explained the criteria Custer Care met for the application and after a brief discussion, the tax exemption request was unanimously approved.
A representative from Applied Connective presented a review of next year’s IT contract with the county, emphasizing that the services will remain the same. The new contract will be voted on by the Board at a future meeting.
Other actions from Tuesday’s meeting included:
- Approval of Resolution 26-2026 that increased the mileage rate from 72.5 cents to 76 cents beginning July 1, 2026.
- Approval of Resolution 27-2026 authorizing the Board Chair to sign the annual certificate of program compliance
- Approval of Resolutions 28-2026 and 29-2026 dealing with securities at Flat Water Bank in Ansley
- Approval of an application to cross the county right-of-way at the intersection of the Gates and Victoria Springs Roads for underground work
The next meeting for the Board of Supervisors will be on Tuesday, August 25th.
