Recap of August 3rd Custer County Court Felony Cases

Louis Keezer, age 55 of Ansley, was charged with two felonies counts in Custer County Court on Monday, August 3rd. Keezer faces a Class IIA felony charge of possession with intent a controlled substance as well as a charge of possession of a controlled substance—methamphetamine, a Class IV felony. Matt Furrow was appointed as public defender and Keezer waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The case was bound over to Custer County District Court for arraignment on August 27th. A bond review was also held. Keezer’s bond was reduced from $25,000 with 10% privilege to $10,000 with 10% privilege. The defendant was remanded back to the custody of the Custer County Sheriff.

Making his first appearance in County Court on August 3rd, was Seth W. Vose, age 34 of Arcadia. Vose is charged with 3rd offense DUI, aggravated, a Class IIIA felony. Vose waived his right to a preliminary hearing and his case was bound over to the Custer County District Court where he will appear on August 20th. Bond was continued.

Appearing for a preliminary hearing was Shali D. Chavez, age 37 of Broken Bow. Chavez is charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a Class IV felony. The defendant waived her right to a preliminary hearing and the case was bound over to Custer County District Court for an arraignment on August 20th.

Carolyn R. Comeau, age 31 of Broken Bow, appeared via video for preliminary hearings in two cases. The first case involved her arrest on April 18th and the subsequent charge of 3rd degree domestic assault causing bodily injury, a Class IIIA felony.  In June, Comeau was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, amphetamine, a Class II felony. The defendant waived her right to preliminary hearings in both cases. Comeau is now scheduled in Custer County District Court on August 27th for arraignment in the cases.
