Raymer Sentenced in Custer County District Court

Alyssa I. Raymer, age 29 of Grand Island, appeared in the Custer County District Court for sentencing on Thursday, October 2nd.

Raymer had previously entered into a plea agreement with the State and been found guilty of theft, a Class IV felony.  The defendant’s presentence investigation had been reviewed by the State and by the defense attorney, Matt Furrow.  Furrow told the Court that his client was prepared to pay the $3,184.73 in restitution immediately.  Before issuing the sentence, Judge Karin Noakes remarked on Raymer’s “history of fraudulent behavior” as well as the “planned out, criminal behavior” she had exhibited in this matter and previous cases. However, the Judge did follow the plea agreement and ordered Raymer to four years probation, a mental health evaluation, a money management course, restitution to be paid immediately, and no contact with the victim. Noakes closed sentencing saying she wouldn’t tolerate Raymer not following probation orders this time.
