Quilt show continues through Saturday in Broken Bow

A few of the projects on display at the 2024 Quilt Guild show

BROKEN BOW, NE- There’s still time for the public to visit the quilt show being put on by Custer’s Last Stitch Quilt Guild at the Brookestone View community room in Broken Bow. Organizers told KCNI/KBBN on Monday that they have had a good number of visitors through the doors since the show started on Saturday, but would love to see more.

The Guild currently has a membership number 65, with 26 members contributing to the show this year. One recently deceased member has two quilts displayed, and one member over the age of 90 has a quilted project at the show.

In total, 91 projects are on display including five hand quilted and five featuring hand embroidery. The largest quilt is 115″ by 115″, while the smallest is 6″ by 6″.

– Can you find the quilted project made from flannel?
– Can you find the quilt made by a man?
– Can you find the quilt with lights?
– Can you find four patriotic quilts?
– Can you find the two Nebraska themed projects?
– Can you find the quilt with five different thread colors in the quilting?

The Custer’s Last Stitch Quilt Guild meets on the 4th Monday of each Month at 7 pm at the Broken Bow Public Library. Yearly dues are $25. Some activities members participate in include an annual Christmas party, the Guild Quilt Show, presenting Quilts of Valor to service members and veterans, and presenting the Discover Nebraska program to 4th grade students in the county.
