Public invited to CHNA Implementation Plan meeting

Following a successful Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Town Hall in May, Melham Medical Center is inviting community members to participate in the next phase of the process— an Implementation Plan meeting scheduled for Tuesday (August 5) from 2 to 4 PM via Zoom.

The initial town hall drew 42 community members from across Custer County and resulted in 168 votes prioritizing key unmet health needs. The top issues identified include mental health services (diagnosis, placement, providers, aftercare), affordable and quality childcare, urgent care/after-hours access, and housing. For a full breakdown of the community-identified priorities, visit the recap of the town hall here.

As required by federal regulations, Melham Medical Center must now update its CHNA Implementation Plan for 2026-2028. This next meeting will focus on identifying concrete steps and strategies to address each of the eight unmet health needs selected during the May event.

Anyone in the community is encouraged to attend, as more voices are seen as an opportunity to help shape how the needs are met.
