Property Tax Information Along with City/County Holiday Hours

CUSTER COUNTY – As the holiday season arrives, City and County Offices transition to holiday hours.

The Broken Bow City Office will be closed at noon on December 22 and the 29th, and they will be closed on the 25th and January 1, 2024.

The Custer County Courthouse will also be closed on December 25, and January 1 along with the DMV.  The Courthouse will be open 9:00 am-5:00 pm on December 26 and January 2, 2024.

Property tax payment options are available, per the Nebraska Department of Revenue, to be  considered timely for 2023:  

  • Pay in the office, by phone, or in the Courthouse drop box by 5 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
  • Pay by mail and be postmarked on January 2, 2024. 
  • Pay online at https://custer.gworks.com by 11:59 pm January 2, 2024. 

The portion of the payments made to the K-12 public schools, excluding bonds, as well as community college amounts, will qualify for the 2023 Refundable Income Tax Credit per LB  873.
