After its first reading was not waived in order to study further the recent contract between S&L Sanitation and the city, ordinance 1308 is back on the agenda for tonight regarding monthly trash assessments. If approved, residents would see a $2/month rate increase and small, medium, and large businesses would each see a $4/month rate increase.
The interlocal cooperative agreement between the city of Broken Bow and the Custer County Communications Center will be up for discussion and possible approval again tonight, after the subject was tabled at the last council meeting so that recent changes to the potential proposal could be studied. Mayor Rod Sonnichsen encouraged council to make a decision at tonight’s meeting so that the agreement and its financial figures could be worked into budget efforts.
A lot split application will be considered by council involving parcels at 909 South 7th Avenue and 923 South 7th Avenue.
Electric use fees will round out discussions at tonight’s meeting. If approved, changes would become effective on July 1, 2026. Council meeting packet documents outline residential, general, irrigation, municipal, and large power and industrial charges up for consideration.
