BROKEN BOW, NE – Between May 6 and June 6, a transformation has been taking place inside of Pleasure Lanes bowling alley in Broken Bow. A grand opening reveal is set for Friday night at 7 PM.
Owners Wendi Glendy, Adam Glendy, and Evan June told KCNI/KBBN the list of people that made the work a success is a long one. From concrete to paint, many hands made the month long journey possible.
Adam said the inspiration came from glances at setups at other alleys.

“We’ve just seen other bowling alleys that have this style of set up. We thought it could work here as long as we knocked some concrete out. We had to push the concrete back 5 foot on the east end and then 3 food on the west end.”
The now expanded area closest to the bowling lanes features easier-to-clean laminate flooring, while the upper area near the snack bar has bright themed carpet. The group tracked down a used set of high quality, durable Qubica bowling alley tables and chairs to fill the space.
“We went from 60 seats to 74 that are set up and we could get more around these bigger tables now. There’s only five chairs around them for bowling but you could fit seven pretty easy. That could increase quite a bit. We could have about 100 if we set up the tables for max,” Adam said.

Wendi said the seating is exciting not only for bowlers, but also for those who just want to stop in to have a bite to eat, adding, “We offer bull fries, chicken strips, kind of bar food. A pretty wide variety on our menu. We’re always looking to expand with different items.”
As the last coats of paint were going up on the wall behind them Wendi, Adam, and Evan said they’re excited to have people lay eyes on the changes, including the not-to-be-forgotten gutter painting job that brought them back to blue, a color they had been in the past.
“I sent a picture to Jerry, who used to own it. He said ‘Ah, that looks good, back to blue!’,” Adam said.
Hours for Pleasure Lanes going forward are Friday and Saturday from 7 PM to 11 PM, with the hosting of parties available if prior arrangements are made ahead of time. A 9 pin no tap league is in the works for the summer and winter leagues start after Labor Day.
