Try out your luck with a BUNCO fundraiser on Saturday, October 14 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Broken Bow Library event room. Tickets are $25 per person or $80 per table of four, and organizers stress that no BUNCO experience is necessary.

PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) member, Karen Evans, told KCNI/KBBN that the Halloween-themed event will have members wearing masks or partial costumes, so you can also feel free to have fun with that.

“This is part of a fundraising strategy for this year and going into the future to support our scholarships and our other opportunities for women. This is a women’s organization, and we do this in order to help with educational loan funds, continuing education programs, and scholarships for women.”

The PEO Sisterhood has been helping women for more than 150 years founded in 1869 in Iowa. PEO chapters provide opportunities for women to pursue their education with scholarships, grants, awards, and loans to help women enhance their futures through learning. The local chapter, PEO Chapter S, was established in 1899. 124 years later, they are excited to host their second annual scholarship fundraiser.

The STAR (Scholastic Talent Accomplishment Recognition) Scholarship requirements include being a female high school senior who exhibits excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service, and plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution among other requirements. Those interested in more information or looking to attend the scholarship fundraiser are invited to contact Karen Evans at (308)870-0435.

So bring a couple of friends, throw on some costumes, and enjoy games, prizes, food, and fun.
