PEO holding scholarship fundraiser in Broken Bow on Saturday

The Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) in Broken Bow is inviting participants to their fourth annual BUNCO scholarship fundraiser this Saturday (June 6) at the Broken Bow Public Library from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Originally founded in 1869 in Iowa, the PEO Sisterhood has been helping women for more than 150 years. With chapters across the nation, PEO provides opportunities for women to pursue their education with scholarships, grants, awards, and loans to help women enhance their futures through learning.

Broken Bow’s chapter, Chapter S, was established in 1889. Now, 126 years later, they are hoping the community comes together at the library on Saturday to raise money for their mission. Red, white, and blue attire is encouraged to fit the ‘America’s 250th Birthday Celebration’ theme.

In addition to BUNCO (which doesn’t require experience, organizers say), a silent auction will also take place.

Tickets are $25 per person or $80 per table of four and are available at the door. Those with questions can contact RayLynn Coble at 308-202-0143.
