PEO Bunco and silent auction fundraiser being held Saturday

The local Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) Chapter S is inviting the public to their third annual scholarship fundraiser this Saturday (May 3). The Cinco de Mayo themed event will feature games of Bunco, a silent auction, and a variety of food.

Suellen Koepke said the event will be a fun way to raise funds for PEO’s mission: to help women pursue education through scholarships, grants, awards, and loans.

“In today’s society I don’t think we get enough laughter. To be with friends and make new friends and laugh and enjoy some time together, what a way to get your day started and going,” said Koepke.

Saturday’s event takes place at the Broken Bow Library from 10 AM to 1 PM. Tickets are $25 per person or $80 for a table of four.

A sisterhood of women that helps women around the world advance through education, PEO was founded in Iowa in 1869. It was only 30 years later in 1899 when the local chapter was founded. Now in year 126, this Saturday’s event serves as a main fundraiser to continuing their mission.
