BROKEN BOW – Shauna Barker is very well-known throughout the community for her years of working in the deli at Jack and Jills, Schmicks, and Garys and is now at the Grocery Kart in Broken Bow.
Shauna was diagnosed with breast cancer and two friends, Larry Contnoir and Rhonda Sheneman put together a fundraiser for her on Saturday at Sylvester Bar in Broken Bow.
The goal was to raise $5,000 for Shauna but due to the gracious hearts of many, $7,515.25 was raised to help Barker out. There were many silent auction items graciously donated along with soups for a free-will donation soup supper. Multiple people came together to ensure this fundraiser would run smoothly, which it did.
There is still an account at Nebraska State Bank under the “Shauna Barker Foundation”, for those who are still interested in donating monetary donations.
