Outage affecting portions of Broken Bow Monday afternoon

BROKEN BOW, Neb. – Customers in Broken Bow are indicating that they are without power as of just after 2 PM on Monday (June 16).

The Broken Bow Electrical Department told KCNI/KBBN that the outage was not planned and that the cause of the outage is unknown at this time. Crews are working to return power to those who are experiencing the outage.

Staff at Bruning Bank said that they are without power, and that they believe that other businesses on the north side of the square are also without power. The electrical department said that the north side of 9th and 10th Avenue was where they had received outage reports from as well, but that they are unsure of the exact area the outage is affecting.

UPDATE (2:45 PM Monday)
The City of Broken has said that the power issue is due to a blown primary fuse, and that the electrical department is working on repairs.

UPDATE (3:03 PM Monday)
Power will be off in the area of South 11th and South 12th Avenues for about 20 to 30 minutes for repairs. The City is thanking the public for their patience.
