Official Results Show Little Change In Voting Numbers For BBPS Bond Issue

Election Commissioner Connie Gracey has reported the canvassing board completed their official count on Wednesday, November 10 of the Broken Bow Public School $29.9 million bond.

Unofficial results on Tuesday night showed 503 votes FOR the bond, while 848 votes were AGAINST the bond. Following the canvassing board’s official count on Wednesday, the only change was two additional votes in the FOR category. This brings the official total 505 votes FOR the bond while 848 votes were AGAINST the bond. Voter turnout was approximately the same around 39%.

It will be back to the drawing board of the BBPS Board of Education who can place the bond, if they choose, in front of voters in six months. If the school elects not to propose another bond, it was indicated the board would likely have to increase the special building fund to begin to address some of the code issues that immediately affect the school.
