OCONTO- Oconto Fun Day begins Friday and lasts through the weekend with many fun activities.
Friday night, the celebration kicks off with a mystery scavenger hunt starting at 5:30. Registration is at Big Jim’s Bar.
Saturday, the fun continues at 10 a.m. when the parade line-up starts at the school ball field. Pre-registration is not required and at the ball field the volunteers will write down descriptions of each float to be announced at the parade. With the theme “Keep Calm and Sparkle On,” the parade will start at 11 a.m.
At noon there will be free lunch at the community building sponsored by the Oconto Boosters. After lunch is a corn hole tournament with registration at the bleachers along Grand Avenue. At 1 is the critter races including critters like turtles, toads and salamanders. Snapping turtles are not allowed. At 2 races, egg toss, balloon toss, and ping pong ball drop begin on Grand Avenue. Prizes will be given out to winners.
Saturday evening is the alumni banquet at 6:30 with registration starting at 6 at the community building. Dan Eggleston noted that anyone and everyone is welcome to the banquet.
“You do not have to be an alumni member to come to the dance…we’d love to have a lot of people come,” Dan said.
Finally on Saturday at 9, there will be fireworks in downtown Oconto.

Dan Eggleston reminds everyone that Oconto Fun Day is very important to their community.
“If we didn’t have this we would just go our separate ways and wouldn’t do any community activities,” said Dan.
