High school speech competitors across the state will be competing for a position at the state competition throughout the week beginning today.
Broken Bow will compete in the B-5 district in Aurora on Monday along with Adams Central, host Aurora, Central City, Hastings, Holdrege, Lexington, and Minden. The D1-4 district at Riverside will also be in action Monday including Anselmo-Merna, Burwell, Central Valley, Fullerton, Loup City, Palmer, host Riverside, and Sumner-Eddyville-Miller.
In Tuesday competition, Loup County, Sandhills, and Sargent will be competing at Stuart High School in the D2-3 district.
On Wednesday, Brady and Gothenburg will look to qualify for state at the D1-6 district in South Platte and the C1-6 district in Gothenburg respectively. Both are fresh off of conference championships in the MNAC and SWC this past Monday.
Friday, Perkins County High School will host the D2-5 district which will include area teams from Arnold, McPherson County, Mullen, Stapleton, and Thedford.
On the final day of district competition, Litchfield will host the D2-4 district which includes fellow area schools of Ansley, Arcadia, and Callaway. Cozad will be in Gering to compete in the B-6 district.
Competitors that place high enough in district competition will compete at the NSAA championships, which are set for March 27 and 28 in Kearney.
