On Sunday, June 2nd , the Nebraska Rod and Customs Association Tour will take place. According to their website, Tour Nebraska is a unique “driving event” that covers 500 miles in 2 days. The NRCA noted that this is not a car show and that there are no trophies. NRCA members believe everyone who participates is a winner.
It’s open to all four-wheel vehicles 30 years old or older. The event started 28 years ago in York Nebraska, and the record for participants was 484 in 2017. The event was initially created for NRCA members. However, non-members are encouraged to join and participate. Participants receive a high-quality t-shirt. They also produce a DVD of the event for $12, and the proceeds help support their scholarship fund for Nebraska Community College students in an automotive or auto collision program.
There will be 2 groups about 15 minutes apart. The tour will start in Hastings, and from there, they will be driving through Wood River to Cairo, then onto Ravenna, Hazard, Litchfield, Mason City, and Ansley, eventually getting to Broken Bow, starting from the Pump and Pantry from 9:30 am to 10:45 am and having a break in town at the Central Square then continuing on their trip for another 300 miles. Communities are encouraged to come and view the classic cars in Broken Bow and along the route on Sunday June, 2nd.
