BROKEN BOW – Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. § 77-1633, that a representative of the following political subdivisions will meet on September 28, 2022, at 6 p.m. at the Custer County Courthouse for the purpose of conducting a joint public hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the subdivisions:
City of Sargent, 308-527-4200, property tax requested: $99,990.00
Broken Bow School District, 308-872-6821, property tax requested: $8,763,838.00
Said meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact the Custer County Clerk at 308-872-5701 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodations are required.
There is no item on the agenda for this joint public meeting other than a discussion of each political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in § 77-1633.
The political subdivisions shall make their presentations in the order listed above. There isn’t any voting taking place at this hearing, just presentations, and after they are done, there will be a public comment period for those who want to speak(each speaker allowed 2 minutes)
